Our Television Production professor had given us an outside assignment and designated beats for each of us.
Me and and my partner got senate beat. I don't know how to react when I discovered my beat assignment because I got the same beat last Radio Production class. I feel fine for it because I have some connections and know easy access strategies. I also feel like I want another beat like police beat because I find it exciting as what my classmates tell. Of course, I am thankful because I know I am placed in that beat for a purpose.
We went there by cab with my other classmates who have also been assigned on the same beat. I was really praying for the directions since I forgot the exact location of the senate, haha; also for the availability of the senators. I have been so hopeful. When we reached the place, I felt so happy because the guards and other staffs still recognized me. It made me smile. I'm feeling like a media personality, Joke!
We observed a senate hearing of Senator Koko Pimentel regarding internet voting for overseas workers. As a student and as an excited individual whose worrying for the availability, I don't feel so much interested which I am sorry for. As the discussion gets shallow, I am liking some things I am hearing. We killed time by roaming around the floors and submitting letters on different senate officials. We also finished the senate hearing. Assurance was stated by Senator Koko Pimentel wen he told us to follow him on his office. He accommodate us immediately after the media's interview. We unimaginably ride on the elevator which is not allowed for the visitors. Surprisingly, Senator Panfilo Lacson was there too!
I got the chance to have an interview Senator Koko Pimentel.
I asked him few questions about the impeachment trial of Renato "CJ" Corona.
Here's the video:
We also had the chance to have an interview with Senator Panfilo Lacson
