AWIT PARA SA BOTOLAN

Do you support your own? Are you aware of the line of Filipino music? "Love your own" is what the organizers of Awit Para sa Botolan concert like to be sprouted in the lives of every member of St. Paul community. The promotion of OPM aimed by the concert is not only for the Paulinians but for every Filipinos. Nowadays, Filipinos are focusing more on international music, not noticing the awesome art our fellow kababayans produce. Original Pinoy Music or known as OPM has wide variation from pop, rock to novelty. The creativeness of Filipinos reflects on the uniqueness of their compositions.

Pedicab, Duster, Sandwich together with the talented paulinians Keiko Necessario and Beige Elorde expressed their love for music on the concert for a cause. The audience jammed with the musicians while uttering happiness for the event with a purpose. Even the professors, heads and staff supported the event. The fun they experienced was totally unforgettable. It shows through their smiles and expressions.

Not to mention, the event also aimed to help the Aetas in Botolan, Zambales. Proceeds of this will be gathered and donated for their education and living. Kudos to CASE, the organizers for making the event possible. Aside from the promotion of OPM, they were able to assist and help the aetas. The essence of original music was uplifted and will continue to be strengthened.

I am honored to share that my classmates were the organizers of this event. Who would have thought that they can organize a big event like this? Aside from the partial fulfillment for their thesis, they proved that students like them can be the answer to the prayers of some people.
