Don’t let today’s disappointment cast a shadow on tomorrow’s dream

“Don’t let today’s disappointment cast a shadow on tomorrow’s dream.” -Unknown

People experience so many bad things in their lives. It can be problems, disappointments and frustrations. The biggest challenge is how you turn that experience into learning. Anything can be useful if we learn from it and then do something with that knowledge. We should not regard problems as source of weakness; as a matter of fact, we should treat disappointments as rushing cars that will come and go our way. Problems do come and the period of recession will fly off soon. It will not last forever. I am not a problematic person to write about these things but I just feel like inspiring people when it comes to turning big disappointments into a constructive way. I’ve heard so many bad experiences from different people and learned that before we react and over analyze why we are given such things, we need to think of steps on how to resolve it. Others will react first and curse. I think the first thing a problematic person should do is think on how to solve his/her problems. Ranting will make it worse. Of course it’s not bad to share it with others and ask for a help. Don’t over think. I’ve encountered people cursing their lives because they have the worst problem in the world which I know is unreal. Have you heard the quote, “"Don't find fault, find a remedy. Focus on what to do next. Spend your energies on moving forward toward finding the answer.” Everyone should apply this whenever they face challenges. We all know that problems are part of life; it doesn't revolve around it. We need to know how to react on every challenge to transform it into a brighter outlook.

Keep in mind that when you come out of storm, you won't be the same person who walked in. :)

Pleasure in the job

In all the things you do, passion must always be present. I’ve learned so many times my life. And now that I’m working, I realized how passion works. It’s really true that when you love what you’re doing, expect greater things. I undeniably love my job.  After I graduated, I immediately seek for a job that will best suit my desires and skills. I discovered how hard it is to find a job. Before, I am just hearing grievances from people hunting for employment. Unexpectedly, after 2 weeks, I've a got an offer! God gave me the best give.

I am surrounded with good vibes everyday at work because of the people I am working with and the philosophies in life we share together. In this job, I learned that in order for you to reach a goal, you should be a go-getter and pro-active. Everyday, I make sure that I am bordered with goals that I should reach before the week ends.

What I love about my job is that we are all enjoying what we are doing. Happiness is the key as always. Funny how time flies when I am in the office and I know it’s because we help and treat each other well. Work should not be treated as a task that is a requirement for your everyday living; it should be regarded as something you get pleasure from. Everytime I remind myself that I should get better in what I do, ideas come out.

Spread the good vibes!

Book Review: Fault in our Stars

Yay! This is my first time to a do a sort of a book review. I’m so inspired that I want to share the goodness of a book. It was after my busy days when I decided to read a book again after 3 weeks. The last book I read before internship and thesis completion was “Before I Fall” by Lauren Oliver which is for me is also a good read. I have been reading tweets and Facebook posts about Fault in our Stars by John Green. I downloaded it and told myself that it’ll be a reward after school requirements. And yeah, I can say that it’s a perfect reward!

The novel is about a 16 year old girl named Hazel who has been battling terminal lung cancer since she was thirteen. Attached to her are tubes through her nose. She had to attend a Cancer Children Support group as her parents require her. And there, she met Augustus Waters who change her life spectacularly. Augustus provided much needed support through his humor, stories and encouragements. He is always reminding Hazel not to let the cancer devour her. They share each other’s dreams and hopes and moved to a deeper relationship. Each conversation brings you to deeper view in story and in life.

Will I be loved? Will I be accepted? Will I be remembered?

These are the questions that profoundly tackled in the story. This put me to a thought that these things are substantial. The characters and I are not the only ones wondering about these thoughts. We all want to leave a mark. We all want to embark significance on the lives of others.

The book is very inspiring. If you’re not into heavy love stories, this is definitely for you. This one’s just light one when it comes to love ish. It is an eye-opener; it made me realize so many things that are worth remembering. The story is unpredictable too that I’m always excited to reach the next chapters. I kept on recommending it to my friends because it is very insightful. It will really leave a mark on your life leading you in an optimistic understanding of life.

I'm so excited to see the movie!

The long wait is over

The long wait is over. After all the hardships, struggles and sufferings, we were able to reach the finish line of our education life. I believe that the learning process does not stop there but I am beyond blessed to step on the stage of our university and finally receive my diploma. I am now a certified degree holder. College life has brought me to a bigger world as well as vast imagination of what life is. It was not an easy part of life; in fact, this chapter is a hard encounter because of different outlook of people you will meet. Aside from this are the challenges you’ll go through. Luckily, I was able to survive!

College life is full of stories and inclusions: course requirements, assignments, expenses, exams, presentations, research works and a lot more. We all experienced this night when we fell asleep while studying for finals; a time when our brain is damned and can’t complete a sentence; a moment when we wished that school wasn’t that tiring and stressful and a minute when we wished we have this power to jump into the future. Yes, we all experienced those. But admit it, college life is fun! This is the time when we get to see things that we thought are impossible.

In this part of life, we are regarded as “mature ones” because this is the preparation for the professional world. But instead of living under pressure, we are fonder of enjoying everything that comes. When we are counting the days before graduation, I honestly don’t know what to feel. It is natural to feel happy about it, but I also felt sad because I know I’m going to miss my friends, mentors and the university. It’s really hard to leave when you treated that place as your second home. But of course, there’s always a reason behind everything. God has plans for me so I must replace sadness with happiness. And yeah, last March 18, 2013, I was able to present my priceless gift to my parents. I can’t believe! Things happened so fast. Indeed, time flies when you’re having fun.

I really appreciate all the messages sent virtually and personally. I am thankful that God has given me very supportive family, boyfriend and friends. I wouldn't have the chance to complete the four years without their encouragements and help. And now, I am part of the “unemployed section” and hoping for a nice job after a month or two. Whatever God gave me, I will accept.

Congratulations to all the graduates of 2013.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

Quiapo Adventure

One day while having a conversation with Jet, a thought passed by my mind. It’s about other countries’ images as being overrated. Top with a huge flag of US on it, notebooks covered with Eiffel tower and other beautiful places in Europe, accessories, bags and other stuffs. I don’t have any bad thoughts about it; there’s nothing wrong with it. I am just thinking if Filipinos are aware about the wonders of our country? I mean, do they plan to explore these wonders? I have this dream in my life: to travel around the world. BUT ahead of that, I would like to travel around my own homeland Philippines.

Quiapo is just an ordinary place for others. They work there, they live there and it’s just nothing. Exceptionally, for me it is something, something remarkable. Why? There are many reasons. These reasons I just discovered last Friday when we went there. One could be the people struggling very hard for their living is everywhere there. You can easily see the eagerness to earn for their living in their faces. It’s up to you whether you’ll feel good about it or bad. I feel good because I believe that hard work pays off no matter what. Next is, of course, the historical Black Nazarene Church, where devotees come and make adoration. And others like the assortment of everything anything, from food to clothing, religious figures, electronic equipment and a lot more other knickknack comes subsequently.

People there are so busy but they still manage to smile. If I had a camera then, I would have absolutely take tons of photos. I realized that every Filipino must spend a day in that place. Quiapo, a place in Philippines with loads of emotions, stories and positive vibes.

MEGA internship insight

First published work.
It's just simple, but I am so happy!

I always regard myself as a person who wants to learn new things and explore discoveries. Writing has always been my passion. I love hearing stories from the people who works on that field. I’d like to learn more because I need to know more. I just had to experience a small chunk in a big world that’s why I am very eager to see other things. I would like to share my insights on my first internship.

Having my internship in a prestige publishing company - One Mega Group is such a pleasure. My experiences are priceless. The lessons I’ve earned are the things I wouldn’t learn in a classroom or school setting. I can say that I faced the real world already because I have seen the reality in this internship. Working on a publishing company is one of my greatest dreams. That’s why I really made it to the point to have my internship wherein my passion can be expressed. A very well spent OJT, indeed. I immediately grabbed the opportunity when I received a mail from the company; and thankfully it was worth it. I feel really feel blessed for God has granted my wish. The very first thing I’ve learned is to be independent when it comes to commuting. The office is not near to where I live but I made it. I learned to be more familiar with places and to think of my own welfare as I venture alone. I know it’s just a least experience but I am glad because I was able to get the privilege of learning it. Now I can proudly say that I can travel all by myself while considering the precautions.

I love writing very much and I wanted to learn more about it; like the proper ways, grammars and formats. When Ms. Apple gave me assignments, I did not hesitate and I accepted it wholeheartedly. I discovered the ways of writing magazine articles. I can say that I really love this field, especially creative writing. I have experienced writing articles about lifestyle, music, tips and a lot more. There are few write-ups that I never knew I could learn, like press releases. When we were asked to write materials like this during my Junior year, I found it difficult and tricky. And now, I’m enjoying writing billboards and press releases. It’s like discovering products and materials on your own. It also opened my mind on new things and innovations. In writing, you can’t choose only the things you like; it is essential to accept whatever topics given to you. Speaking of that, I gained the value of obeying; that I should not close myself and be exclusive to the things I just desire. There will always be mentors that will give you directions; I should look up to them because they will lead me into the right path.

I also had the privilege to join shoots. It was really fun. There, I learned bunch of things. I have discovered that “peace of mind” really matters. You need to focus and concentrate on certain tasks given to you. I can’t be tame and wait for others to command me. I should have the initiative and offer myself. During those times, people are panicking so I need to be alert all the time. It was such an honor being with the team during a cover shoot. The team is not doing their job just to finish their work; they are enjoying what they’re doing. What I’ve also learned is that you should always enjoy what you are doing. You can’t be just doing it without your heart. Passion should always be present. I have seen the exact scenario during photoshoots. The people were all creative. I told myself that my ideas in mind should not always stay where it is; I should express it and let it flow. Abilities and ideas should not be wasted. These things came from God. Like the people in this field, I should not waste any of the blessings from above.

In my internship, I found out the importance of this matter. I was also able to evaluate myself; that I need to change so many things. Yes, I am entering the real world. This isn’t like college days that my life is limited. Few months from now, I will be dealing with different kinds of people. I will be facing people with different personalities and attitudes. I should not let myself hang around without knowing what exactly to do and to say. I met  people with a meaningful passion, which is writing. They are all encouraging me to pursue my dream. I did not learn only from my experiences, they also taught me lessons from their familiarity. They were once like me, hoping and dreaming to be successful. They did not stop believing on their capablitiesand up until now they are still seeking for knowledge. I want to be like them someday; still eager to learn new things.

Celebrity Living Magazine,
December 2012-January 2013 issue
One Mega Group people are very humble. They do not think highly of themselves even if they already have the standards to be such. They are very modest. They treat everyone in the company equally, even cleaners and drivers. There is no high or low position in the office. I admire them for being such. I think everyone should be like them. This is very important in a workplace and I am very glad that I have experienced it in Mega. I have conquered various fears and it brought out my strengths. I am thankful because my Celebrity Living family really helped me to bring out the best out of me. I am very certain that everyone in the team aimed to leave a mark in my life. I won’t forget all the pieces of advice, opinions and recommendations ever. Surely, I will carry these things on the start and end my journey. They guided me all throughout. I never felt being alone with them. Priceless could be a repetitive word in this reflection but I couldn’t help myself but use it. My journey in One Mega Group is just short but it is unforgettable. I will never ever forget anything about it.

Welcoming 2013 with a happy heart

Everyone wants to welcome 2013 with a bang. Who wouldn’t want to leave 2012 with no worries, just happy thoughts? Of course everyone aims for a fabulous new year. A new year is definitely a time to ponder on the things you need and want to change about yourself. It’s not the ONLY time but it can be the PERFECT time. Everyday is a chance to see the possibilities about yourself and life. It is the time of life that should not be wasted. They say that the nosier, the better, the more prosperous. It can be just a tittle-tattle, but it can be true. It depends on how you expect life. It’s just exciting to embrace 2013 with happiness and love. It’s not merely about the practices and rituals, it’s about the essence along with self-assessment.

Leave all the bad memories in the past. All the pain, sorrows and struggles should be left in the previous year; and let it serve as lessons. Good memories are allowed to be brought on the anticipating year. These are the things that are meant to be kept and cherished. While keeping these memories, you become more encouraged to seek in for forthcoming moments and happenings. This 2013, remember to embark your values in the highest level. Spend this wonderful day with your family and loved ones. By being together, you are more stimulated to have a fresh start. This is the sharp time to express yourself, bond and make others happy.

Do not be dejected about the so-called predictions about the upcoming year. “Number 13” is not a tragic number and “The Year of the Snake” is not an unlucky year. It depends definitely on how you track and view your life. Imagine it wonderfully and creatively and you will have a prosperous year. All the while, we should not forget the best thing to do as we welcome 2013. Start it with a PRAYER! Thank God for the magnificent blessings you have received and ask him to come with you on your everyday life. Seek God first before anything else.

BE HAPPY!
 Love lots,
Trisha

Not only because I am related to them or anything but because their dishes and creations are tastes good.  From Filipino dishes to international cuisine like Italian pastas, Korean and Japanese dishes.
